What does Haugen Attachments make?
Haugen builds a wide range of material handling and lifting attachments across skid steer, telehandler, wheel loader, and forklift platforms, focused on lifting and
placing rather than digging or cutting. If you're looking for a specific type of attachment, contact us and we can check current availability.
Will Haugen attachments fit my machine?
depends on the mount, and Haugen builds several. Skid steer attachments use the universal quick-attach plate, telehandler attachments use a carriage mount,
and many attachments use a fork-slot mount that slides onto the forks you already run. Identify which of the three your machine uses before ordering, and contact us
with the make and model if the product page isn't clear.
What's the difference between a jib and a truss boom?
Both extend your reach, but for different work. A jib is a shorter boom with a hook, meant to lift and place a load precisely where your machine can't reach with forks. A
truss boom is longer and designed for setting roof trusses and long panels, trading lift capacity for reach. The longer the boom, the lower the rated capacity at the tip,
so check the load chart, not just the maximum rating.
What should I know before using a work platform?
Lifting people is regulated differently than lifting material, and the rules vary by jurisdiction and machine type. Use only a platform rated for personnel on a machine
approved for it, follow the manufacturer's instructions for attachment and restraint, and check current OSHA and ANSI requirements plus any state or local rules before
you put a person in the air. If you're unsure whether a platform suits your machine, call us before ordering.
How do I know what capacity I need?
Work back from the heaviest load you actually lift, then add a margin. Two ratings matter and they're different: the attachment's own rated capacity, and your
machine's capacity at the height and reach you'll be working at. Machine capacity drops sharply as the boom extends, so a telehandler rated for 8,000 pounds close in
may handle far less at full reach. Match both before ordering.
