We offer vibratory rollers from Blue Diamond attachments. Have a look at them below. Keep reading to learn more about vibratory rollers.
Why use a skid steer vibratory roller attachment?
Vibratory rollers are used to increase the density of soil and other materials in roadwork after its been properly <a href="https://skidsteersdirect.com/collections/skid-steer-grader" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">graded</a>. The increased density in turn increases the load bearing capacity of the surface.

<br>
From personal experience, we have used vibratory rollers to compact gravel taxiways at rural airports in the past.
<br>
<br>
This is of particular importance anywhere a heavy propeller driven airplane may stop briefly, such as in front of fuel pumps.
<br>
<br>
Any sort of soft ground or sinking in done by the airplane while it’s stopped means that it needs more power to begin moving again. More power by a propeller driven airplane often means more rocks and stones thrown and sucked up by the propeller.
How does a skid steer vibratory roller work?
As with most other skid steer attachments, it attaches to your skid steer universal quick attach and uses power from your auxiliary hydraulic system.
<br>
<br>
The hydraulic system often requires between 10-50 gallons per minute as well as 1,500 - 3,000 PSI.
<br>
<br>
The vibratory roller provides downward force with the overall weight of the drum which is often 2,000 to 2,500 pounds.
<br>
<br>
Smooth drums are available for granular soils while you can purchase an option padded roller (AKA sheeps foot roller) for cohesive soils such as clay.
