Mini Skid Steer Fence Installer

Mini Skid Steer Fence Installers

When we talk about installing fencing using your mini skid steer, we have two main product groups in mind, fencing dispensers and post pounders.

Let’s take a look at both, some of their advantages and limitations, and what you can expect from your mini skid steer fence installation equipment.

Mini Skid Steer Post Driver

A mini skid steer post driver is an attachment that is designed to pound posts into the ground. This is a great tool if you are going to be regularly installing fence posts.

This is a common attachment for full sized skid steers, but it’s important to know that your mini skid steer is more than capable of handling a post driver as well. In fact, they are often the same post driver, but with different mounts.

The first choice you have to make is whether you want a vibratory or hammer style post driver. Most of our customers go with a vibratory post driver. In fact, some manufacturers have abandoned hammer style post drivers and are now only offering vibratory style.

A vibratory post driver attachment uses hydraulic flow from your mini skid steer to vibrate posts into the ground. A domed cup attached to the drive unit is used to keep the post centered while it’s been driven.

Mini skid steer vibratory post driver attachments come with various options. One of which is a tilt function to help drive posts into the ground straight while on uneven ground. Another option is a grapple, which lifts the post off of the ground eliminating the need for outside help.
